JioPhone beats Samsung to become the best-selling feature phone in India for Q4 2017
jio Phone has become the best-selling feature phone in India for Q4 2017. The company has achieved this achievement by overtaking the world’s leading phone maker Samsung. According to a report by the research firm Counterpoint, in the last quarter of 2017, Jio Phones occupy the first place with 26 percent market share. At the same time, Samsung remained second with the market share of 15 percent. Micromax and Intel occupied the third and fourth positions respectively.
According to the counterpoint, the supply of Jio phones worth Rs 1,500 has increased in the fourth quarter end. The research firm said that this device has been able to bridge the gap between demand and supply. According to the report, in the fourth quarter of 2017, 26 percent of Jio Phones, 15 percent of Samsung, 9 percent of Micromax, 7 percent of Intel and 6 percent of HMD Global occupy feature phone market. At the same time, 34% of the rest went to other companies’ accounts.
The special thing is that talking about the whole year, with 21 percent share, Samsung topped the market share. At the same time, with 12 percent, Reliance remained third in the second and 11 per cent. With 9 percent market share, Micromax got the fourth and 7 percent share, with Lava occupying the fifth position. The remaining brands share 40 percent. The reason for Reliance Jio being at number three is that the delivery of this phone started in the third quarter.
