Samsung shows us a preview of what a 5G city will look like
Smartphone manufacturers are really excited about the prospect of the 5G network, one of which is Samsung as they released a video preview imagining how a 5G city will look like and how it will affect our daily lives.
The “5G City” video was created on some areas of the “Digital City” of Samsung Electronics in Suwon, South Korea, the 5G stadium, the 5G connectivity node and the 5G kiosk.
The video shows that in the stadium covered by Massive MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technologies, many users could access the 5G network without lag, especially when viewing streaming video content, it also showed different smartphones connected to both the 4G network with as many in 5G and the difference was clear. Which means even in a very crowded place (like a stadium) 5G technology will allow everyone present to connect to the network without problems.
Another aspect is the node of 5G connectivity, we saw the security cameras and all types of sensors on the street are connected under the 5G network. In this way it is possible to introduce more sensors to monitor traffic, to control pedestrian movements, to manage car flows, to view videos in streaming and to measure atmospheric temperature. The 5G will also allow access to even more complete and advanced services with the application of artificial intelligence.
The kiosk 5G is nothing more than a hot spot near which you can download large content in a very short time: in the test conducted by Samsung, the download speed near the kiosk reached 1-3Gbps. In this way, we will offer to the population and tourists services and content (such as maps, software updates of connected cars and so on) accessible and downloadable on your smartphone in a few seconds.
