How you can backup your Android smartphones with Google photos and Google drive (Step-by-Step)
Backing up files on Android smartphones is as easy as ABC and this particular feature is what everyone has on his/her phone but I some people do not know how it works or to use it, well that is about to change as this article will show you how you can go about backing up your files on your Android smartphones.
As you must have been aware that there are different means you can use when backing-up your files on Android OS but with Google Backup (which includes Google Photos for Photos and Videos, Google Drive for files and folders) you don’t need to use any third-party app or other means to do that.
But first, I believe we all know what Backing-up files mean and if you don’t; Files Back-up as the name implies is the safest way of preserving and making the copy of the original files which can later be used to recover the original files when lost, destroyed or damaged.
You should know that Google Backup is the safest way to back up your files on Android phones as it is very easy to follow-through, all you have to do is to get a Google account to set it up, and it works by backing-up your Photos, videos, documents, installed app data, contacts and all signed-in account data automatically with no stress.
This is are the procedure to follow in setting up your Google files Back-up;
To get started, go to your device Settings. Now in Settings find Backup & Restore and click on it. Some Android phones show “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore,” make sure both are toggled on.
Now in Backup & Restore turn on Back up my data option. Now tap on the Backup account.
After that, a small popup window will appear as “Set backup account”. then enter your Gmail account. If you are already signed in to your Google account then in this window you can see your account; if not, tap on Add account.
Now when your Gmail account window comes up, sign-in to your Google account, and after completing the sign in process, it will go back to Set backup account window
After seeing your Google account in Set backup account window. Now tap on it to select this account to your Backup account. If you turn on your Backup option then by default it can back up everything from your device to your Google account.
If you want to specify what you’re backing-up to your Google account, then go to Main Menu of the Settings, in Settings find Accounts. When you’re in Accounts window, tap on Google option, this will now open Sync (synchronization) options to a new window. then you will see a list of your device data, by checking and unchecking the right-hand side checkboxes you can turn on or off synchronization for specific data.
Well, that’s all you have to do to have your files backed-up, I hope you find this helpful.
