Say Hello To The First Ever 10GB RAM Smartphone From Xiaomi; Black Shark Helo
Xiaomi is here again with another “monstrous” smartphone, yeah, a phone with 10GB of RAM. The Chineses top smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi has unveiled its new gaming smartphone known as the Black Shark Helo.
The newly launched Xiaomi Black Shark Helo is the successor to Black shark gaming phone launched in April this year. This time, the Black Shark Helo is built with an AMOLED display and has no notch. Speaking further about the display, the device packed a 6.01 “AMOLED FHD + display with a resolution of 2.160 x 1080 pixels, 18: 9, 100% coverage of the NTSC color space, 430 nits, HDR.
The body has been revised in design and houses a flashy lighting system with integrated RGB LED both in the logo on the back cover, and along two portions of the side profile. In addition, the fingerprint sensor which is repositioned in the rear part disappears from the front panel.
A quick look at what is under the hood of the Black Shark Helo reveals that it comes in three variants; the 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 128GB and the premium variant with massive 10GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The three versions of the device are powered by a SoC Snapdragon 845 and have two liquid cooling pipes to keep the phone cool when gaming by reducing the CPU’s core temperature by up to 12-degree, compared to 8-degree in the predecessor.

The Xiaomi Black Shark Helo is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 standard support, but we are not sure of the software version for now. Our educated guess would be Android 8.1 Oreo running out of the box with Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 on top.
Xiaomi did not neglect the accessories by providing Bluetooth controllers that can be positioned on the side of the smartphone, through the appropriate case, to improve interaction with the games. In a similar way to what was done by ASUS with the ROG Phone, he then developed a (conspicuous) accessory for the external cooling of the body using a dual fan system, in fact, a case that also integrates a controller thought for two-handed use.
The 6GB Black Shark Halo will cost CNY3,199 ($460) while the 8GB alteration will sell for CNY3,499 ($505). Initially, the Black Shark Helo will be made available only in China starting November 10. The 10GB/256GB version’s price and availability are yet to be confirmed.
