iOS: You can now use Touch ID or Face ID to unlock WhatsApp, See how to set it up
WhatsApp has just rolled out a new update mainly to its iOS users. This latest update now comes with additional security features that enabled iOS users to set Face ID or Touch ID authentication to unlock the WhatsApp application.
This feature, which is official, is not enabled by default in the application but can be configured quickly within the program’s menus. Here’s how to enable conversation blocking in WhatsApp with the iPhone’s Face ID or Touch ID.
How to set up the Touch ID or Face ID
Enabling this feature on your iOS devices is just so simple.
- To begin with, go to your Home screen, navigating to Settings
- On the new screen, click on “Account” and go to “Privacy”;
- Enter “Screen Lock” and check the next to “Request Touch or Face ID”. If you wish, you can set a time interval between using the program and requesting the process to unlock it.
At this point, when you try to reopen WhatsApp within the configured rules, you will have to go through the Touch or Face ID authentication process. It’s important to remember that, even with this setting, you will continue to receive WhatsApp notifications, and you can even reply to them without having to unlock the application.
Presently, this feature is only available to iOS users while Andriod community would have to wait for their share of the cake.
