Whatsapp has been hacked! You are advised to do THIS ASAP!
WhatsApp has reported that it discovered in early May “advanced cyber actor spyware” that infected an unknown number of people’s devices.
The report from WhatsApp says that the hackers were able to insert malicious software on users phones by calling the target using the app, which is used by 1.5 billion people around the world.
It was also reported that the spyware the hackers used was developed by a shadowy Israel-based firm called the NSO Group, which was accused of helping governments from the Middle East to Mexico to snoop on activists and journalists.
The malware was said to have affected millions of iPhones, Android, and Windows users, and an update was put in place to battle the malware, meanwhile WhatsApp users are advised to update their Whatsapp so as to fight off the malware.
